Pat or "Patty" Lamar, age 87, was born on June 10, 1934 in Dallas, Texas. She passed away on March 11, 2022 surrounded by her loving family and caretakers. Pat was joined in marriage to her husband, John on May 13, 1955 and celebrated 60 years of marriage. She graduated from Adamson High School in 1952 and then attended secretarial school. She left the workplace in 1961 to raise a family and then returned to work in 1973. She retired from Military Sales & Service in 1988. In retirement, Pat enjoyed travelling through Europe and the United States, spoiling her grandchildren, and volunteering in her community. Patty was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Cedar Hill, Sunday school teacher, Cub Scout den mother, PTA member, and volunteered at the church office for over 50 years. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Lamar; parents, Hal and Elizabeth Wheeler; sisters, Rose Barnett and Margaret Gorman; and brother, John Wheeler. Pat is survived by three sons; David Lamar and wife, Luanne of Houston; Brian Lamar and wife, Pam of Midlothian; and Paul Lamar and wife, Anita of Waxahachie. Eight grandchildren: Andrea Lamar, Shannon Moyano, Shayne Lamar, Kyle Lamar, Courtney Lamar, Rachael Gilbert, Becky Young, and Danny Lamar. She had eight great- grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation is 5-7 pm, Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Jaynes Memorial Chapel. Funeral services are 10:00 am, at First United Methodist Church (old sanctuary), 128 Roberts Rd. Cedar Hill, TX. Interment will follow at Laurel Land Memorial Park, Dallas, TX. Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Cedar Hill.
