Pamela Jane Peterson, 77, of Pawleys Island, SC, formerly of Sebec, Maine, peacefully passed away on March 31, 2025. She was born in Dover Foxcroft, Maine, on February 21, 1948, to Albert and Dorothy Preble.
Pamela embraced life with a joyful spirit, finding pleasure in reading, art, cooking, the beauty of poetry, the tranquility of gardening, the expression of drawing, and the lighthearted fun of karaoke. She also cherished outdoor adventures such as kayaking and swimming. Her heart found joy in travel, the serenity of walks on the beach, and the cherished memories made at her beloved Sebec Lake, Maine. Above all, Pamela's life was deeply rooted in her unwavering faith and devotion to her family. She was an active member of Pawleys Island Community Church, where her spirit found solace and community.
Pamela is survived by her loving husband, Stephen Peterson Sr., her children, Penny Grieb and her husband Richard Grieb, and her son Stephen Peterson Jr. and his partner Jennifer Connelley, her siblings, Rodney Preble, Maureen Briggs, Lynette Dow, Randy Preble and Rhoda Storen, and her adoring grandchildren, Richard Grieb, Jessica Grieb, Matthew Peterson, Katherine Peterson, Madison Connelley-Peterson, and Grace Connelley-Peterson, her precious great-granddaughter Penny Layne Grieb, and her beloved nephew Kevin Briggs and his husband Mark McLaughlin. Pamela also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews and a large extended family that she always found time to forge personal connections with.
Pamela's warmth and kindness touched countless lives, and she had a special gift for cultivating deep, lifelong friendships. Throughout her life's journey, in each place she called her home, she built strong bonds with those around her. For 30 years, she poured her energy and dedication into Coastal Staffing Services in Georgetown, South Carolina, as its owner. With a degree in early childhood development, Pamela had a tender heart for children and served them with love and compassion at First Steps in Georgetown, South Carolina.
She was welcomed into eternal peace by her parents, Albert and Dorothy Preble, her beloved grandson, Brian Grieb, and her siblings, Diane Lamson and David Preble.
Services were held to celebrate Pamela's life on Sunday, April 6th, 2025 at the Pawleys Island Community Church.
