Palma (Campana) Johnson, 96, of New Britain, wife of the late Walter B. Johnson, passed away Monday (July 11, 2022) at Grandview Healthcare Center. Born in McAdoo, PA, she was a former Florida resident, moving to New Britain over 60 years ago. Palma was an Assembler at Emhart Corp. in Berlin, retiring in 1988. She was a member of the New Britain VFW Post Auxiliary.
Surviving are two nieces, Carol Reed and her husband Rene of New Britain; and Georgeanne Gilchrest of Bristol; a nephew, Wayne Johnson and his wife Stella in Brawley, CA; several grandnieces and grandnephews. Besides her husband Walter, she was predeceased by a brother Philip Campana; two sisters, Mildred Gomes and Mary Sacco; as well as a grandniece and grandnephew.
Funeral services are Thursday 1:30 PM at Carlson Funeral Home, 45 Franklin Square, New Britain. Calling hours are Thursday afternoon from 12:30 until the time of the service. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Recreation Department at Grandview Healthcare, 55 Grand Street, New Britain, CT 06051.
