She grew up in a large family that she dearly loved. Helen worked for the Illinois Central Railroad, where she met the love of her life. On April 12, 1947, Helen married Dale Fancher in Rantoul, Illinois. Helen and Dale were married for more than 70 years and loved each other immensely.
