Oralia Palacios Weaver, entered the loving arms of our Lord on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at the age of 75. She was born in Alice, Texas on December 18, 1945 to her parents, Raul and Manuela Palacios. She was a graduate of Benavides High School class of 1964. She received her bachelor's degree from Texas A & I University of Kingsville in Home Economics and her master's degree in Education at the University of Houston Clear Lake. Teaching and impacting children's lives became her passion. In 2003, after teaching for 24 years, she retired form Pearland ISD where she worked with the gifted and talented students and received the District Teacher of the Year award. In 2004, she came out of retirement to teach at Ramirez Common School District for another four years. She was strong in her Catholic faith and was a member of The Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She was a member of the Concepcion Catholic Organization (CCO) where she served as President. She was also a member of the Canary Islander Descendants Association. Oralia had many passions- arts and crafts, painting, cooking, deer hunting, traveling, and supporting her grandchildren's school functions and activities and spent time at the ranch with her family. Her family was her greatest treasure, especially her beloved grandchildren. She was a kind lady who led a life of service and faith. She was loved by all that knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raul and Manuela Palacios; a brother, Luis Ismael Palacios.
Oralia is survived by her husband of 53 years of marriage, Frank Weaver of Concepcion, Texas; two sons, Steven Ray (Debra) Weaver of Pearland, Texas and Adrian (Megan) Weaver of Dallas, Texas; one daughter, Mirna Weaver Herr of Friendswood, Texas; one brother, Carlos (Norma) Palacios of Corpus Christi, Texas; one sister, Cayetana (? Agustin) Perez of Concepcion, Texas; sister-in-law, Angelita Palacios- Cavazos; seven grandchildren, Jared Weaver, Blake Weaver, Joshua Weaver, Jacob Weaver, Katelynn Weaver, Logan Herr and Noah Herr; two step grandchildren, Colin Hilton and Katherine Hilton; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, August 20, 2021 at Garza Funeral Home in San Diego, Texas with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Concepcion, Texas. Interment will follow at Garcia Cemetery in Concepcion, Texas.
