Dad would have been living on South Lafayette in 1964. I am not certain about him finding Grandma B. but I wonder if it was Margaret Neff who lived upstairs. She taught English at Macomb H.S. and lived in the upstairs apt. She might have called dad when she found her or maybe dad did look in on her. I do remember when we got the news that Grandpa B. had fallen off the roof of the barn that he was working on. My mom and dad were in Philadelphia at an National Education Association meeting. They drove home and it was so stressful for my mom that she really fell apart. I think the long drive home did it. They took pictures of grandpa because they thought she might need them later. I remember Ada saying that it was hard because mom had always been the study hand and it was hard to see her reaction. Thanks again for the information. Mary Jo Vance Johnson.
