Norwin H. Rehm, 95 of West Stockbridge died Monday August 1, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Norwin was born in Queens N.Y. on March 14, 1927 son of George H. and Helen (Yockel) Rehm. He was a graduate of Sayville High School. Norwin worked for many years as a foreman of Plant 3, Dept. 012 for Grumman Aerospace and retired as assistant plant manager in 1987. He was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church and active in all church activities, he enjoyed boating and being on the water, working on cars, being outside and being in his garden and hunting with his son's.
Norm was the previous treasurer of the West Stockbridge Council on Aging which he really enjoyed.
Norwin is survived by his wife Joan (Marpe) Rehm of West Stockbridge whom he married at the Church of the Good Shepard in Brooklyn N.Y on April, 19, 1952, and they just celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary; two sons, Edward J. Rehm and wife Kathleen of Staunton VA and Robert Rehm and wife Michelle of St. James LI, NY and one daughter, Katherine H. Rehm of West Stockbridge, two grandchildren, Edward J. Rehm Jr and wife Heather of York, PA and Christine M. Gannon and husband Jack of Staunton VA, two great grandchildren, Caitlyn and Thomas Gannon; one brother, Kenneth G. Rehm and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister-in-law Eileen Rehm of Sayville N.Y., brother-in-law William and his wife Esther Marpe of Ft. Worth TX, and two nephews and 1 great-nephew.
Funeral services for Norwin H. Rehm will be held on Saturday August 6 at 11:00 AM with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Patrick's Church in West Stockbridge. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Friday August 5 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME 33 South St. Great Barrington MA 01230. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in Norwin's memory may be made to either the West Stockbridge Fire Dept. or Hospice Care in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home.
