Mr. Norman D. Wilmot, Jr. passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Pittsfield, MA, on January 25, 1931, the son of the late Norman and Jennie Newton Wilmot, he graduated from Pittsfield High School.
Norman was a Korean War Veteran. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 1952, where he proudly served his country until 1954.
Norman was employed by the former First Agricultural Bank, where he worked in various roles. He later went to Country Concrete, and finally to the Bonded Collection Agency, from where he retired.
Bowling was one of his favorite pastimes, and, throughout the years, he was a member of many leagues at Ken's. While he was an avid fan of all Boston sports, he was known for his love of the Red Sox.
Norman is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 60 years, the former Kathleen (Judy) Lawson, whom he married on April 13, 1963. He leaves behind his children, Laura May Newton (Michael) and Norman Davis Wilmot III (Edythe), as well as his dear grandchildren, Jessica Kathleen Newton, Matthew James Newton, and Adylena Jenny-Marie Wilmot. He was affectionately known as "Bop" or "Junior". Norman is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Norman was predeceased by his siblings, Jennie, Billy, Mary, Isabelle, and Ruth.
