Norman Eugene Watson, "Norm", age 94, went home to heaven on February 17, 2025. He is survived by his daughter, Suzanne Hanson, step-daughter, Denise Majors, step-son, David Nation, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Norm never met a stranger; he loved people and was known for his generosity, kindness, quick wit and for helping others. He made a positive impact on many lives and leaves a legacy of good works.
He was a US Navy Veteran of almost 30 years, known as "Doc Watson" and "Stormin' Norman". He was an avid Ham Radio Operator, K4FQX, serving during his military and civilian careers. He was active in the Shriners for over 50 years, serving as a Van Driver taking children to Shrine hospitals and as a Shrine Circus clown, called "Stormin Norman". He was also a Master Mason, active in the Knoxville Kerbela Temple Grand Lodge Cherokee #798, the Hillbillies Club, Order of the Eastern Star, Worthy Patron Laurel #22, and many other organizations, holding several offices and receiving many honors for his contributions and service. Norm was also a long time member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 1001 Ebenezer Rd, Knoxville, TN 37923, on March 1, 2025 at 1pm.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Kerbela Temple Knoxville, the Shriners Hospital for Children, and/or Ebenezer United Methodist Church designated for Missions.
