Norman V Roberts, 98, of Ocala, FL, died February 2, 2021.
Norman was a long time Tulsa, OK resident where he attended Central High School and later graduated from the University of Oklahoma. He served in the south Pacific as a Marine Air Corps F4U Corsair pilot and later during the Korean Conflict trained cadets to fly at the Pensacola Naval Air Station where he achieved the rank of Major. Norman culminated a varied career by returning to Tulsa to serve as an administrator for the State of Oklahoma overseeing job training programs for the disadvantaged.
Norman loved all living things and enjoyed his retirement gardening, tinkering, reading, writing, laughing, making music, and entertaining family at his Dunnellon FL home. His life was dedicated to helping his country, his family and anyone in need.
He was preceded in death by his wife Weeta in 1990 and his second wife Barbara in 2002. His daughters Anne Morand and Susan Roberts both passed in 2013.
Norman is survived by his son Wayne and daughter-in-law Susan of Appleton, ME, grandson David Morand of Oklahoma City, and granddaughters Catherine Roberts of New York City and Robin Roberts of Seattle, WA. No services are planned, and the family wishes donations be made to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
