Norman Smith Clinard, age 77, passed away peacefully the morning of January 10, 2022 in Knoxville, TN, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. He was a loving husband of 56 years, loving father, grandfather, brother, and son. Survivors include wife (Queen Mother) Brenda Sue Bowers Clinard; daughter (The Queen) Michelle Clinard Baldwin and husband Joe; shooting buddy and grandson Clayton Baldwin, and granddaughter (The Princess) Susie Baldwin; brother John Clinard and wife Lil Austin Clinard; sister-in-law Frieda Bowers Harmon and husband Michael; nieces Christian Clinard Natale, Ashley Harmon Self, Rachel Harmon Higginbotham; great nieces Baylee Head, Taylor Natale, Adalynn and Lilly Higginbotham. He was preceded in death by his parents Dr. Turner Norman Clinard and Dorothy Smith Clinard. Norman received his B.S. in Industrial Engineering from East Tennessee State University in 1967, and at the peak of his career retired from Philips Consumer Electronics in Jefferson City where he served as plant manager. Norman lived a life rich with hobbies and the love of friends and family. Norman enjoyed travel, SCUBA, kids, boating, water skiing, motorcycles, kids, cards and games with friends, marathons, beaches, kids, dogs, firearms, kids, and kept a stockpile of popsicles and dog treats for the neighborhood after retirement. The Family will receive from 5:30 to 7:30 pm Friday, January 14, 2022 at Rose Funeral & Cremation-Broadway. A memorial service will follow at 7:30 pm with Pastor Clay Harrington officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Alzheimer's Association, Horse Haven of Tennessee, or your local animal shelter.
