Norma Rosalea Young, 95, of Stanford, KY passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland in Somerset, KY. Born on September 15,1929 in Cincinnati, OH to the late Denny Lee and Josephine Steele Manning. She is the widow to the late Roy Lee Young.
Norma's passion for life was evident in every facet of her existence. Her career in sales with an interior design firm allowed her to showcase her discerning eye and creative flair, while her hobbies revealed a woman of diverse interests and talents. Alongside her beloved late husband, Roy Young, Norma found joy in the simple pleasures of playing rook, bowling, and golfing. Her vibrant spirit also found a home in music, as she lent her voice to the "Traveleers" Quartet, a group that won many accolades. This zest for life was matched only by her unwavering faith, which found expression in her long-standing membership at the Harris Memorial Methodist Church in Stanford, KY, and later at the Oak Hill Baptist Church in Somerset, KY.
Survivors include one daughter, Stefanie Brown; three grandchildren, Alex Daniel Brown, Kelee Penman and Clinton Anderson; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Young; parents, Denny and Josephine Manning; one daughter, Brenda Carole Young; and a grandchild, Parker Anderson.
Visitation will be on Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY. The funeral service will begin at 6:00 p.m. She will be buried at Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
