Mrs. Norma E. Van Pelt
Herkimer, New York
Mrs. Norma E. Van Pelt, age 75, of Shells Bush Road, Town of Herkimer, passed away on Sunday, July 3rd, 2022, at Albany Medical Center. At the time of her passing, she was surrounded by those she loved.
She was born in Bridgewater, NY on September 24, 1946, daughter of the late Irving and Jeanette
(Chartrand) Dye and educated in Brookfield Central School. Norma was united in marriage with Richard VanPelt on July 9, 1966, in West Brookfield, NY, celebrating 52 years of marriage. Mr. VanPelt passed away on July 15, 2018. Norma was a dedicated foster parent.
Survivors include her devoted children, Ronald Van Pelt and wife, Bridget, of New Berlin, Stacey Murray and husband, Raymond, of Little Falls, and Richard I. Van Pelt and wife, Amy, of Dolgeville; loving siblings, Chester Dye of Brookfield, Violet Clark and husband Philip of Poland, Dexter Dye and wife Coleen of Georgia and Judy Flores and husband Michael of TN; adored grandchildren, Jeremy, Kayla, Victoria, Grace and Joshua; special great-grandchildren, Brantley, Gavin and Lakin and Lucas and Matilyn. Also surviving is her cherished friend, Sharon. She was predeceased by her siblings, Debbie, Nancy, and Zebulun.
Norma will be sadly missed by all those who knew her. She always proved herself to be a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Norma's heart and home were open to all and numerous loved ones knew of her unconditional hospitality. She was appreciated for her loving concern and efforts for those she cared for. She always rose to the occasion because she was a truly selfless woman with a caring heart. Her greatest blessing was her family, who all graced her life.
Arrangements are under the direction and care of Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5, Little Falls (corner of Bidleman Road), 315-508-5131. Calling hours at MVFC will take place from 12-2 pm on Friday, July 8, 2022. A service will be held at the funeral home at the conclusion of calling hours with Pastor Chris Wintermute of the First Baptist Church, Little Falls, officiating. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Kindly consider memorial contributions in her name to the Herkimer County Humane Society.
