Norma Mary (Sherman) Mulvey June 3, 2022 Norma Mary (Sherman) Mulvey, longtime resident of North Syracuse, passed away peacefully, after a brief illness, in Boston MA, on June 3, 2022. She was 87 years old. Born and raised in Buffalo, Norma met and married her husband Gerald in 1956, and together they raised their five children in North Syracuse. Norma earned her BA in Education from Buffalo State Teacher's College in 1954 and began a lengthy career in public education by teaching parenting classes in North Syracuse. Then, she had a long tenure as a Title I reading and math instructor in North Syracuse Central Schools, spanning over 20 years. Norma was an avid reader and lifetime active member of the League of Women Voters. She was also member of St. Rose of Lima parish in North Syracuse for over 50 years. Following her retirement, Norma served many years as an Election Inspector Coordinator in the northern suburbs. She also enjoyed traveling in Europe with family. What brought her the most joy was attending whatever athletic contests, dance recitals, school plays or music recitals any of her grandchildren were taking part in.
