Norma Jean Moses

Norma Jean Kriel was born July 12, 1943 to Norman and Oleen (Langerud) Kriel on a farm in Goodridge, Minnesota, near Thief River Falls. She graduated from the Goodridge School.

She married Joe Sanfellipo and together they had a daughter, Tamara, born in 1970. Norma moved to Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Norma moved back to Thief River Falls where she worked at Arctic Cat. She married Darcy Moses.

Norma and Darcy purchased a farmhouse in Greely, Minnesota. She worked as a manager at the Rush City Piccadilly until she retired. After retirement, she worked at Waste Management. After Darcy's passing in 2003 Norma sold the farmhouse and purchased a house in town in Rush City.

She had a vast love for being outside, especially in the fall as it was her favorite season. You could often find her walking, shoveling snow, mowing the lawn, or helping a fellow neighbor outside.

Norma's other hobbies included sewing, knitting, gardening, canning (especially pickles), Bingo, watching the Vikings, and spending time with her grandchildren. She also served as an usher at church. Prior to his passing, she enjoyed traveling in the motorhome with Darcy.

Norma is survived by her children Tamara Zak of Rush City, Cindy (Arlen) Lund of Centerville, Heide (Randy) Carey of Grantsburg, WI, Trudy Reinke (Randy Broz) of Pine City, Wendy (Mike) Askay of Frederic, WI, Polly Anderson of Wyoming; 14 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents Norman and Oleen Kriel; husband Darcy Moses; and brother Roger Kriel.

Pastor Manda Truchinski will officiate at funeral services for Norma: 2 PM; Saturday, November 29, 2025 with a time of visitation one hour prior to the service all at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Rush City. The interment will take place in First Lutheran Cemetery, Rush City.
