Norma Burcham Easter, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother peacefully passed away in Midlothian, VA on March 22 at the age of 82. Born in Galax, VA on September 24, 1941, Norma dedicated her life to serving others as a paraprofessional with Chesterfield County Public Schools, working with elementary school children. She was very involved in her church as treasurer, Sunday-school teacher and events co-planner. She also spent many years volunteering for the Ladies Auxiliary of the Midlothian Volunteer Fire Department.Norma's legacy will forever be cherished by her surviving family members: her devoted husband of 63 years, Monroe "Jack" Easter, her loving daughters, Kim McGraw (Bob) and Jill Burke (Jeff), her cherished grandchildren, Dylan and Jake McGraw, and her dear sister-in-law, Shirley Burcham. She was predeceased by her parents Robert and Rausy Burcham and her eight siblings - Laura Mae Leonard, Faye Diamond, Arnold Burcham, Arthur "Buck" Burcham, Alma Vaughan, Buford Burcham, Archie "Bud" Burcham and Diana Delp. Norma's kindness, patience, and unwavering dedication to her family, friends, church and her profession will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.The family will receive visitors on March 29th from 5 - 7 PM at Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home in Amelia Courthouse, VA. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on March 30th at Epworth United Methodist Church, 15941 S. Giles Rd, Amelia, VA. The ceremonies will honor Norma's life and the profound impact she had on those around her. Family and friends are invited to gather together to pay their respects, celebrate her life, and find solace in their shared memories of a remarkable woman who touched so many lives. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love and gratitude of all who cherished her presence.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Epworth United Methodist Church at the address listed.
