Mrs. Norma Conroe, longtime resident of Conroe, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, April 17, 2024. She was born to Joseph Walker Flatt and Hattie Adelle Flatt on September 7, 1936 in Timpson, Texas. Her family moved to Conroe her senior year of high school. That is when she met William "Bill" Conroe after his return from the Korean War. They later wed and had two children, Kelly and Chris. Once they both were in school, Norma went back to further her education and obtained her bachelor's degree. She then worked as a probation officer for many years in Montgomery County. Norma loved to travel with her friends and went all around the USA, Thailand and Spain. She loved antiques and at one time had an antique shop in a co-op in Huntsville. Norma enjoyed looking at houses and adored playing the piano, especially old hymns, but spending time with her family is what she loved the most. She was known for her witty sense of humor and kindness; Norma will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill in 2012. Norma is survived by her daughter and son in law, Kelly and Rudy Rymal. Her son and daughter in law, Christopher Conroe and Teresa. Grandchildren, Keith Rymal and wife Gina, Shae Franks, Ryan Rymal and wife Desteney, Kimberly Poole, Kristina Infante and Katie Conroe. great grandchildren Dade Rymal, Madisyn and Brooklyn Poole, Anna Conroe and Mario Infante and Brynlee Franks.
Pallbearers will include Brian Bienvenu, Billy Lyons, Justin Roberts, Homero Lozano, Juan Lozano and Roger Mitchell.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in The Chapel at Conroe Funeral Directors with the Rev. Tim Byrd officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service in The Chapel beginning at 10:00 a.m.
