Nora Schick, n?e Breeden, was born on June 3, 1925 in Jacksonville, Florida, the only child of Henry and Nettie Breeden. When she was 21 she brought home a dashing Marine aviator for dinner and proceeded to spend the next 74 years of her life with Otto Schick. Together they moved from coast to coast, serving at Marine Corps Air Stations in Jacksonville, Florida; Cherry Point, North Carolina; and El Toro, California. Nora and Otto relocated to Miami in the early 50s where they adopted a handsome baby boy, their only child, Daniel Barton Schick. Nora kept an eye on little Danny while Otto launched a career with Eastern Airlines that would eventually make him their #1 pilot and Chairman of the Master Executive Council prior to his retirement. Nora was incredibly proud of Danny when he was accepted to the U.S. Air Force Academy and followed in his father's footsteps as a military officer, fighter pilot, and airline pilot. Nora played a significant role in both her husband and son's success, hosting glamorous cocktail parties and cooking up the best formal dinners you ever tasted! She was nothing if not a fabulous cook and the consummate hostess. Into her 90s, Nora insisted on dressing properly for dinner and observing a strict 5 o'clock cocktail hour. She enjoyed playing Bridge and staying in touch with the many friends she and Otto made while serving in the military and residing in Highlands and Asheville, NC, Marco Island and The Villages, FL. Her poodles, Bonnie, Taffy and Puffy, were also among her great loves. Nora joins her son Daniel in heaven and is survived by her husband Otto, her daughter-in-law Georgine, her grandchildren Brittany (Joshua), Aaron, Adam, Bethany, Courtany, and Christian, her great-grandchildren Alexandria and Phoenix, and her dear friends Richard and Clara Holmes.
