MADDEN, Nora Marie (Goodwin) Of South Boston, MA, died peacefully at her home July 20, 2022 at the age of 82. Beloved wife of the late Patrick Joseph Madden, Jr., devoted mother to her son Patrick Joseph Madden, III and his wife Mary Madden, her son Kevin Madden and his wife Stephanie Madden, and her daughter Janice (Madden) McCarthy and her husband Stephen McCarthy. Cherished grandmother to her seven grandchildren Rebecca McCarthy, Patrick Madden, IV, the late Stephen McCarthy, Jr., Molly Madden, Danny Madden, Katie McCarthy, Kaitlyn Madden, and Kristina Madden. Loved by her great-granddaughter Blake Marie Coleman McCarthy and Blake's mother Allie Coleman. She will also be missed by her brothers Roland Goodwin, Austin Goodwin and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Myrtle and Harris Goodwin, her brother Gordon Goodwin and her loving grandmother Nora Oulton who she was named after. Marie and her husband Patrick had one of those special romances that began the moment they met and continued throughout their marriage. Their love for each other shows in each of her children and grandchildren. Marie herself worked for decades at Mt. Auburn Hospital in Cambridge and was known for her eye to detail and commitment to her work. Most of all she loved her children and grandchildren deeply and was always there to help and support them. She will be missed by all. Visitation in the O'Brien Funeral Home, 146 Dorchester St., SOUTH BOSTON on Monday, July 25th from 8:30-10:30am. Followed by Funeral Mass in St. Brigid Church, 841 East Broadway, South Boston. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.
