On April 11, 2018, Noble Curtis, 100, of Greensburg, went home to be with his beloved wife and Savior. He was born on September 1, 1917 in Orange County, Indiana the son of William and Eva (Moffitt) Curtis. Noble was a 1936 graduate of Orleans High School. Noble served in the United States Army during WWII. He married Eula Robbins on September 1, 1946. Together they had two children Dan and Marcia. Noble was a farmer, he owned Curtis Construction, and he also ran Curtis Orchard. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Greensburg and also served as a Trustee. After he retired he enjoyed making furniture, playing musical instruments, and baking bread, donuts, and pies for family & friends. Noble and Eula loved their Smoky Mountain vacations with family. He also liked reading the Bible, fishing, woodworking, and loving on his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include: Son- Dan (Laura) Curtis; Daughter- Marcia (Doug) Reed; Grandchildren- Sara (Jay) Vanderbur and D. Andrew (Joell) Curtis; Great Grandchildren- Anna Vanderbur, Laura Beth Vanderbur, Ayden Vanderbur, and Emma Grace Vanderbur. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, and Brothers- Joe Curtis, Menlo Curtis, and Kenneth Curtis; and Sister- Naomi Johnson.
A visitation for family and friends was held at the Gilliland Howe Funeral Home on Sunday, April 15, 2018 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm. Funeral services were Monday, April 16, 2018 at 11:00 am. Rev. Jay Vanderbur officiated. Burial followed at the Mt. Aerie Cemetery. Online condolences can be made to the family at www.gilliland-howe.com
