Nina Faye (Littlejohn) Rodrick, 90, of Oblong, IL passed away on Friday November 25, 2022, at Arbor Rose Memory Care in Robinson, IL.
She was born on December 5, 1931, in Martin Township, Crawford County, Illinois. She was the daughter of Forrest and Dorothy Fern (Midgett) Littlejohn.
Nina was a farm wife, cook at Chauncey Grade School, Salesclerk for The Christian Book Store in Olney, Illinois, sold Home Interiors for several years and was waitress/cook at the snack bar in Harmon's Drug Store in Oblong, Illinois. She was a member of the Morning Glories Home Extension, Oblong Roadrunners and had served as a fair Superintendent in the Floral Hall for the Crawford County Fair for many years. Her hobbies included traveling, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.
On November 30, 1956, she married Carl Richard Rodrick, who preceded her in death on March 25, 1980. Also preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers Myrl and Jerry Littlejohn; brothers-in-law Fred Inboden, Max Rodrick, and Willard Pauley; sisters-in-law Mary Littlejohn, Donna Littlejohn, Bertie Rodrick and Mary Pauley.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law David and Cheryl Rodrick, Oblong, IL; two daughters and sons-in-law Carla and Alfred "Al" Bello, Valdosta, GA, Lori and Alan Potter, Oblong, IL; seven grandchildren Jessica and Joshua Butcher, Joshua and Samantha Rodrick, Megan and Tim Tillman, Erin and Gabe Thomas, Patrick Bello, Alana and Zachary Bean and Justin and Melanie Potter; twelve Great-grandchildren Brice and Remington Butcher, Halle Rodrick, Taylor, Ava and Daniel Tillman, Aurora, Camryn, Brylynn and Dakota Bean and Katie and Josh Bean; a brother and sister-in-law Larry and Mary Ann Littlejohn, Robinson, IL; three sisters and brother-in-law Beulah Inboden, Oblong, IL, Evea and Everett Miller, Willow Hill, IL and Dale Davis, Oblong, IL along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, several cousins, and special home caregivers Becky, Rita, Mary, Charlotte, Dixie and Loretta.
Celebration of Nina's life will be held at Noon on Tuesday November 29, 2022, at Pulliam Funeral Home in Oblong, IL. Burial will follow in Chauncey Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of a contribution to either Oblong Christmas in the Park or the Crawford County Fair Floral Hall.
