Nilda Saenz-Guerra Loera, 86, of Kingsville, Texas passed away peacefully on August 10, 2022, with the love of her life, her husband, by her side.
She was born on April 6, 1936, in Kingsville, Texas to Manuel and Cecilia Guerra.
She was a retired teacher with Kingsville ISD and Robstown ISD. She was very passionate about her chosen career and loved her students very much. She always enjoyed running into former students and hearing about how they were doing.
She was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church. She was a former member of The Columbian Ladies, KTC- Retired Teachers of America, various prayer groups, and other social/civic organizations.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents, who raised her, Julian and Jesusita Guerra, and her brother Jose Arnoldo Guerra.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Roque R. Loera, of Kingsville, Texas; three daughters, Cecilia Loera Stringer (James) of Kingsville, Rita Loera Soto of Corpus Christi, and Lisa Loera of Kingsville; two grandsons whom she loved with all her heart, John Daniel Soto of Corpus Christi, and Bryan James Loera Stringer (Brianna) of Georgetown. Additional survivors include her two brothers, Manuel Guerra, Jr. of San Antonio and Gilberto Guerra, of Houston; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. O.J. Rodriguez, the staff at Palm Valley Healthcare, Inc., the staff at Kingsville Hospice, and Katy Albiar-Hernandez for their commitment to her health and well-being. The family would also like to extend an extra special sentiment of gratitude to Lee Ann Pereida, for her endless care, compassion, and friendship she developed with our mother throughout the years.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 14, 2022, from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home. A Rosary will be held on Sunday, August 14, 2022, at 7:00 pm at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 on Monday morning, August 15, 2022, at St. Martin's Catholic Church with Father Alfredo Villarreal officiating.
Burial will follow at Chamberlain Cemetery.
