Great-grandmother, 97, loved music, reading and her pets Nila Lucille Boyko passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023, at St. Peter's University Hospital. She was 97 years old. Born in McMinnville, OR, to Lee Earl and Rosalia Anne (ne Rossman) Emery, she resided in Elizabeth before settling down in Monroe for over 20 years. Prior to retiring, Nila was an admitting clerk for Alexian Brothers Hospital in Elizabeth, where she worked for 20 years. Nila was an active member of the Monroe Township Senior Center for many years. In her leisure time, Nila loved music, reading, and her pets. Nila was predeceased by her husband, John Walter Boyko. Surviving are her sons, Nick and his wife, Brenda, of Houston, TX, Mike and his wife, Sarah, of Fincastle, VA; her daughter, Sally Boyko Vagias and her husband, Jim, of East Brunswick; her grandchildren, Terri Boyko George, Kelsey Boyko, Ana Vagias, Meredith Boyko Covert, Jennifer Boyko, and Stuart Boyko, and her great grandchildren, Halen George, Weston Covert, and Evelyn Covert. Family and friends may visit on Thursday February 23, 2023, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, at The BRUNSWICK MEMORIAL HOME, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick. An additional visitation will be held on Friday, February 24, at 10:00 AM followed by a memorial service at 11:00 at the funeral home. Cremation will be private.
