Nickolas Ihor Milanytch
at the age of 88, departed into eternity
Nickolas was born on November 21, 1936, in Lviv, Ukraine, to Eustachia (n?e Hupalowska) and Athanas Milanytch.
He received a bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts.
Nickolas had industrial, commercial, quality assurance, and military experience in management, engineering, and administration. As a Commander in the United States Navy, where he served over 22 years, he developed an extensive range of knowledge and skills in the air-surface and underwater sectors. For his performance, he received six team recognitions and two personal decorations.
Nickolas was a devout parishioner of the Presentation of the Most Holy Mother of God Ukrainian Catholic Church in North Port, FL. He was a lifelong member of the Plast Ukrainian Scouting Organization, where he belonged to the "Lisovy Chorty" senior scouts fraternity, and engaged in various events with the Ukrainian American Veterans, Post 40. He held a commercial pilot's license and flew a small plane for enjoyment.
Nickolas is survived by his wife Germaine "Gerry" (n?e Kuklinski); sister Motria; brother Rostislav with wife Helena; nephew Michael Klufas with wife Kris; nieces Maya Milanytch, Alexa Milanytch, and Lisa with husband Andrey Mykyta and their children Zorian, Kaya, Mila and Adrian; and closer and distant family in the Ukrainian diaspora and Ukraine. Nickolas was also the loving brother of Zorianna "Zirka" Klufas, who predeceased him.
Liturgy and funeral services were held on November 4, 2025, at the Presentation of the Most Holy Mother of God Ukrainian Catholic Church in North Port, FL, with interment at the Sarasota National Cemetery, in Sarasota County, FL.
