Nicholasa Ann "Nicki" Hidalgo, 70, Topeka, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2021.
Nicki was born September 2, 1950, in Topeka to Rudolfo, Jr. and Beatrice Ramirez Rocha. She was a 1968 graduate of Topeka High School. On January 24, 1970, Nicki and the love of her life, Louis Andrew Hidalgo, Jr. were united in marriage, enjoying over 51 years together.
Nicki volunteered at Assumption Grade School and was secretary at Mater Dei Grade School. She loved the children! Nicki enjoyed music, dancing and crafting. She was a member of Sacred Heart-St. Joseph Parish, a devout Catholic with a unwavering faith in God. She loved her family second only to God and was a prayer warrior for them and all in need. Nicki was a beautiful soul whose presence on this earth will be missed tremendously. She loves and is loved dearly, now and always.
Grateful to have shared her life are her husband, Louis; children, Anthony Hidalgo, Mark Hidalgo (La Tonya), Therese Hidalgo, Javier Hidalgo, Ana Hidalgo (Cassie), and Michael Hidalgo; 32 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; her mother, Beatrice Rocha; nine brothers and sisters; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Rudolfo, her son, Louis Hidalgo III, infant son, Martin Hidalgo and great-grandson, Tremale Serrano, Jr.
The rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m. Monday, April 26, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, followed by visitation until 7 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial following at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Please wear festive colors to Nicki's services at her family's request.
