Nicholas John DiPiazza II, age 56, of Buford, GA passed away peacefully on February 10, 2021 after a short but courageous battle with cancer with his wife by his side. Nicholas, or Nick as his family and friends called him, was born in Cheverly, MD on March 12, 1964. His family moved to Slidell, LA in 1976 where he graduated from St. Paul's School in Covington, LA and then obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from LSU. Upon moving to the Atlanta area, Nick met his wife, Rachael Diane Nunn, and the two were married in November 1998. Nick's degree from LSU led to his beloved career as a research chemist for several pharmaceutical companies for which he spent the past 19 years working at Recro Pharma in Gainesville, GA.
As a loving and devoted husband and father, Nick spent many years as a dedicated soccer and cheer dad. His passions included home improvement, landscaping and coin collecting. He treasured the family vacations to his favorite beach and was so grateful of being able to visit Italy a few years ago to explore his family's heritage. His generosity reached so many as he was always willing to lend a helping hand and placed others needs before his. Nick loved his career but found the perfect balance between work and home life, giving his wife, family and friends precious years of his love and support.
Nick was preceded in death by his father, Nicholas John DiPiazza of Woodstock, GA. He is survived by his wife, Rachael DiPiazza of Buford, GA; son Nicholas DiPiazza, a sophomore at Middle Tennessee State University; daughter Kaitlyn DiPiazza, a freshman at University of Alabama; his mother Connie DiPiazza of Woodstock, GA; his sister and brother-in-law Jeanette and Ross Feldman and their children Joey, Ari and Nicole of Alexandria, VA; his sister and brother-in-law Lisa and Dominick DiSanza and their children, Brandon, Gabrielle and Dominick, Jr. of Marietta, GA; his sister Audrey Fincher and her children Laura and Lee of Peachtree City; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Don and Cheryl Nunn of Jefferson, GA; and his brother-in-law, Jeremy Nunn of Jefferson, GA.
