Newton F. "Newt" Jones, 86 of Edinburgh, Indiana passed away October 12, 2019 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born March 8, 1933 in Shelby County, Indiana. He was the son of Percy O. Jones and Mary A. (Randolph) Harris. He married Eileen K. (Scott) Jones.
He is survived by his wife, daughters, Debra L. (Tom) Derrico of Franklin, Indiana and Sandra K. (Darren) Hill of Shelbyville, Indiana, grandchildren, Dana L. (Dale) Walton, Danielle L. (Ryan) Hargis, Aaron M. (Kelly Keating, fiance) Hill, and Emma K. Hill, and great-grandchildren, Raelynn Danielle Grayson, Declan Thomas Courtney Walton, and Killian Joseph Walton.
He was preceded in death by his parent and brothers, Robert Isgrigg and Paul Isgrigg.
Newton was a member of Mt. Auburn Christian Church where he served as a deacon for many years and attended Dade City Christian Church in Dade City, Florida.
He served in the US Army from 1954-1956 overseas at Camp Zama, Headquarters Far East Command. After returning from overseas he worked as a carpenter for Barney Carr Construction until retirement.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 17, 2019 by Reverend Brian Scott at Mt. Auburn Christian Church in Mt. Auburn, Indiana. Calling will be from 5:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh, Indiana and from 10:00 AM until time of service Thursday at the church. Burial will be at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Mt. Auburn.
