
Nelson William Stearns
Nelson was a Jack of all Trades and a master of none. A caring, loving, family man who always put family first. He didn't hesitate to teach us that giving to others will come back ten-fold.
The son of Nathan Augustus Stearns and Lillian Mae Nelson. Brother to Eleanor May Stearns Duncan (1923-2009.) He served during the Korean War (1950-1953), stationed in Osan, South Korea as a mechanic in the 63rd Engineer Parts Depot Company. He married Shirley Beatrice Pease 3 July 1953. his favorite statement was, "I'm a Jack of all trades, but a master of none." He was the father of June, Vickie, Marjorie, Eleanor, William, Susan and Nelson. On his mother's side, he was a descendant of "Jonathan Nelson, the progenitor of the Sutton New Hampshire Nelsons, who came here in 1776. Jonathan was fourth in descent from Thomas Nelson, the immigrant, who came, 1639, from Rowley in England, to Massachusetts, and settled in what was soon after named Rowley, The pedigree line is (1) Thomas, (2) Philip, (3) Joseph, (4) Jonathan.(Page 829 "History of Sutton, New Hampshire.)" His father's he descended from Isaac Stearns. Isaac arrived in 1630 with the Winthrop Fleet. He is list as a passenger on Winthrop's flagship, the Arbella.
