Neal Jack Wilson, 66, of East Jordan, died on Sunday, August 20, 2023, in Petoskey.
He was born on November 23, 1956, the son of Jack and Ethel (Murphy) Wilson. He graduated from East Jordan High School in 1975.
Neal worked as a heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting and fishing. He loved ice fishing in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. He was also known to attend auctions and garage sales. Every time he met up with his grandchildren, he would alway have a bag of knickknacks for them from his collections. Neal loved watching his grandchildren play sports. He was an avid fan of local Little League and University of Michigan sports. Neal was a lifelong resident of East Jordan where he had many lifelong friends and relatives.
He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Debbie Lynn Wilson of East Jordan; his three sons, Denzil (Cheltzi) Wilson of East Jordan, Chad (Amy) Wilson of Petoskey and Coleman (fianc?, Emily Puroll) Wilson of Petoskey; eight grandchildren, Avary, Brady, Ella, Maria, Daniel, Gabriel, William and Lyla; two sisters, Jill (Leston "Chip") Brown of Central Lake and Sandra (Robert) Forsman of Traverse City; one brother, Brad (Kim) Wilson of Sparta; one brother-in-law, Tom (Sarah) Towne of Boyne Falls; one sister-in-law, Sandra (Scott) Beal of East Jordan; mother-in-law, Geneva Towne of Boyne Falls; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, Julia Wilson and father-in-law, Ralph Towne.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at 4:00 P.M. at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc., East Jordan. Rev. Karen Harriman of the East JordanUnited Methodist Church will officiate.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc., East Jordan.
