Nathan Eugene Foreman, 88 of Matthews, North Carolina passed away on Monday, May 31, 2022, with his family at his side. He was born to the late Pearl and Mary (Mitchell) Foreman on December 9, 1933, in Delaware, Ohio. Nathan married the love of his life Betty Lorine Adkins on June 18,1959.
He is preceded in death by his son Murphy Paul Foreman and by two brothers, Verlin Foreman and Melvin Foreman.
Nathan is survived by His wife of 62 years, Betty (Adkins); nine children, Matthew (Gina) Foreman, Vincent (Meliza) Foreman, Mark (Mary Heyward) Foreman, Sheila (David) Dye, Elizabeth (Craig) Hunt, Drucilla Foreman, Nathanial (Lisa) Foreman, Ozella (Anthony) Burgos and Luke Foreman; his grandchildren, Matthew P. Foreman, Joshua Foreman, Grace Stenhouse, Sara Butterman, Nikki Hamilton, Katy Porter, Emily Dye, Summer Dye, Zoe Burgos, Naomi Burgos, Kara Bradshaw, Joy Bradshaw, James Bradshaw, Mianna Foreman, Makayla Foreman, Mya Foreman and Murphy Foreman. He had eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Myron Foreman, two sisters Sharon Foreman and Thursa Burgess, plus many nephews and nieces.
Nathan grew up in Union County Ohio, where attended school in York Center. After school He enlisted in the Military where served both in the Army and the Air Force. While in the Air Force, he was stationed for three years in Washington D.C. guarding Air Force One. After an honorable discharge he moved to Marion, Ohio where he served a police officer for almost twenty years. After retiring, he moved to Arkansas for short time then to Richwood, Ohio. At that time he worked as a police office and rural route mail carrier for 15 years. He then moved his family to Matthews, NC in 1998 to work with his sons at Foreman's Painting and Home Improvement. Even at 88 years old he was actively involved in working with the business.
He was a faithful Christian, husband and father. He loved his family and was liked by all who met him.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 2:00 pm with viewing hours at 1:00 pm at Heritage Funeral Home in Weddington/Matthews. His son Matthew Foreman will officiate, and burial will follow at the Forest Lawn East Cemetery.
