Naomi Davis, 95, passed away February 3, 2022. She was born February 20, 1926 in West Union, West Virginia to the late Claude and Inez Gaskins.
Naomi studied piano and organ and had her own studio for 50 years, in Green. She taught three generations of students. She was a devoted musician to Cottage Grove E. C. Church. She served as a pianist, organist, adult and teen choir director. She also served as a teacher and women's bible study leader. Her heart was to serve her Lord every day of her life.
Naomi was a very talented quilter; her quilts were beautiful and perfect, and she made them for all her family and friends. She taught many young women the joy of quilting. Her mother and sisters displayed their family quilts for over 25 years at the Mountain State Festival in Elkins, West Virginia.
Whenever you say "Classy Lady" that was her. Naomi enjoyed having a finished look and her sisters even nicknamed her Miss Uppity. Her children knew her as a loving, kind mother who was devoted to their happiness. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Mimi was beloved and adored by them all.
Besides her parents, Naomi was preceded in death by her first husband, Stanley Davis, Jr. and second husband, Russell "Fred" Spicer and 7 siblings.
