Naoma Lee Crisp Rozelle was born in Dallas on January 27, 1925 to Joseph Henry Crisp and Maud Anna Stone Crisp. She was a child of the depression and came of age during World War II. Like so many in her generation, those experiences taught her strength of character, resilience, frugality, and sacrifice. Mother loved God, her family, and this country.
As a single mother of three, she worked as a salesclerk at the J C Penny store in Casa View to support her family. She rose to the position as a buyer for the company and was always grateful to them for the opportunity they gave her. At the height of her career, she took early retirement to become full time caregiver for her mother. She was active in Bible Study, North Dallas Women's club and a graduate of Sunset High School. Until the last years of her life, she attended monthly luncheons with classmates of the era. Over the years, our mother faced adversity and some tough times, but she never complained. She handled every situation she faced with dignity and grace. She was happy all her life. She often said, "Life is Beautiful" and she lived a beautiful life. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior and was called home on July 25, 2021. We will miss her every day and are so appreciative of the legacy she left us. Mom, we will never forget you! Thank you for everything.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Loreta Crisp Brodie, and her brother, Joseph Crisp Jr. She leaves behind a daughter, Rita Rozelle Dukes and son-in law Jerry Dukes of Evergreen, Colorado, a son, Allen Rozelle and daughter-in-law Margie Rozelle of Allen Texas, and a son, John Rozelle of Richardson, Texas. She was blessed with seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren
