Nancy Brown Uram, 77, of Lincoln, VA passed away on July 19, 2022, at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 30, 1944, to Howard T. and Myrtle Leonard Brown of Lincoln, VA.
After graduating from Loudoun County High School in 1962, she earned a BA in English from Western Maryland College. She married the love of her life, Harry Uram and taught 9th grade English in Baltimore, MD, where they had their two children, Eric and Jennifer. In 1972, they built their forever home on her parents' dairy farm in Lincoln, VA.
She was an active member of the Goose Creek Friends Meeting and served as the Meeting Recorder for over 40 years. Her role as clerk of the publications committee also brought her much enjoyment.
Nancy had a profound interest in her family and friends and shared in their daily joys and sorrows with great compassion. She also loved doing needlework and baking cookies with her grandchildren. Her calm and caring demeanor gave her a uniquely warm presence, and she provided comfort and support to all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Harry Uram; children: Eric Uram (Lyn) of Leesburg, VA and Jennifer Bray (David) of Los Angeles, CA; grandchildren: Heath, William, and Caroline Bray; siblings: Caroline Pelton, Peggy McMaster (Lenny), Douglas Brown (Nancy), and Rachel Flanagan (Craig), and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Howard and Mrytle Brown, and brother-in-law Rodney Pelton.
The memorial service will be held at 2:00 on July 30, 2022, at Goose Creek Meeting House, 18204 Lincoln Rd, Purcellville, VA 20132. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Goose Creek Friends Meeting, PO Box 105, Lincoln, VA 20160.
