Mrs. Seaford, long-time Charlotte, N.C. resident passed away December 6, 2021, at the age of 90. She was born in Kannapolis, N.C. November 19, 1931, to the late Crawford Sims and Mabel Hinson Sims.
Nancy was a graduate of the W.R. Odell High School Class of 1949. After graduation, she married her high school sweetheart, Lane Seaford. They were married 62 years. While her two sons were growing up, she was active as a Cub Scout leader with the Boy Scouts of America. She was an avid reader and loved trips to the Pennsylvania Amish Country. Nancy's family loved her feisty, lovable spirit, her ability to laugh at small things, the way she encouraged grandkids to just "try," especially a new food. Nancy was an entrepreneur before it was in style: cutting & selling hydrangeas, turning found items into a profit, and collecting and selling antiques. She had an incredible talent for decorating and fashion. Her working career was with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools as a school secretary.
Mrs. Seaford was so proud of her loving family: Lane Seaford II and wife Donna of Charlotte, N.C. and Jeffrey Seaford and wife Robin of Huntersville, N.C. Grandchildren: Jamie Stewart, Lane Seaford III and Lauren Jackson. Great-grandchildren: Sam Stewart, Kayla Stewart, Kenzie Stewart, Noah Jackson, Lily Jackson, Shaylin Seaford and Lane Seaford, IV.
Graveside will be at Mallard Creek Presbyterian Church, where she was a member, at 1pm on Sunday, December 12. (Park at the church and we will walk to the cemetery together at 12:55 PM)
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Diabetes Foundation or the Mallard Creek Presbyterian Church Building Fund.
