Nancy M. Rollins, 96, of Round Hill, Virginia passed away peacefully on March 3rd in South Carolina surrounded by her family. Our Mom (Mamaw) was born on January 16th, 1928, in Herndon, Virgina and lived in Sterling and Round Hill, Virginia for most of her life. She was a Virginia gal! She was one of 12 siblings that grew up in the Herndon area.
Our Mom was a homemaker taking care of her husband and two sons for a long time, but then started working at Loudoun Furniture store in Sterling for many years, a job that she loved along with the people that owned the store. She was a hard worker and with a great work ethic that she passed along to her family. She continued helping people into her 90's before she had to give it up, and that was a very difficult thing for her to do.
Nancy enjoyed spending time with her family, doing wordbook puzzles, watching her stories, and there was never a porch that she didn't like to sit and rock on. She also enjoyed watching most sports on TV, especially her beloved Redskins.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Emerson (Lanky) Rollins Sr. and her granddaughter, Kimberly Dawn Rollins.
She is survived by her sons, Emerson Richard Rollins Jr. (Susan), Danny Lee Rollins (Jonna), her grandchildren and their families, Jeffrey Chadwick Rollins (Bonnie), Krista Leigh Douglas (Josh), Cole Emerson Rollins (Tori). five great grandchildren, Miley and Madi Rollins, Wyatt and Waylen Rollins, and Benjamin Douglas. Her sister, Betty Mae Marini, nieces, nephews and numerous other family members.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 from 5 pm to 8 pm at Adams-Green Funeral Home 721 Elden St. Herndon, VA, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 am. Interment Sterling Cemetery
