Nancy Mae (Wilbert) Podschwit of Snohomish, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 15th, 2022. She was born to Edward Walter Wilbert and Marion Mae Romanoff on April 15th, 1951 in Detroit, Michigan. She was raised in Michigan with her two surviving siblings: Butch Wilbert and Susan (Wilbert) Pelto. She attended Farmington Hills High School and graduated from the University of Michigan with a BA in Fine Arts and MBA in Accounting and Finance. Nancy later moved to the Chicagoland area, where she began her four decade career in corporate finance and raised three children: Kathryn, Harry, and Alexander. The family relocated to Washington in 2009 with four dogs and three cats in-tow. A lifelong animal lover, she moved to Snohomish in 2018 where she cared for dogs, cats, horses, ducks, and chickens. Nancy had many other interests as well, including music, gardening, cooking, sewing, and entertaining for family and friends. She was always looking for new adventures, and recently traveled to Australia and Hawaii. Nancy became a grandmother with the birth of Harlan Podschwit in 2020, and never missed an opportunity to dote on her grandson. She will be remembered for her playful humor, generosity, and warm spirit. Private memorial services will be held later this month at Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Progressive Animal Welfare Society (www.paws.org).
