Mrs. Nancy LaFond, 88, of Kennebunk, formerly of Ogunquit, Maine, passed away in Newnan, GA on October 10, 2023. She was born on July 6, 1935, in Hollis, ME to the late William J. Rowe and Pearl Lang Rowe.
Nancy grew up in Dover, NH, and Ogunquit graduating from Dover High School in 1953. She was also a graduate of Gorham State Teachers College and Western Connecticut State University. She proudly taught at elementary schools in Portsmouth, Belfast, ME, and New Milford, CT. In addition, she owned and taught at the Valentine Hill Preschool in Durham, NH.
She married her college sweetheart, Les LaFond, in 1957 and they were blissfully wed for 66 years. In retirement, they moved to Ogunquit and Kennebunk, ME.
The burial, in the Riverside Cemetery in Ogunquit, ME, will be private. Condolences can be expressed online at www.mckoon.com.
Survivors include husband, Les LaFond; sons Stephen LaFond and wife Julie of Newnan, GA, and Scott LaFond and his wife Maureen of Attleboro, MA; grandchildren, Karly Lawson of Lafayette, CO, Erica Bazilchuk of West Lebanon, VT, Nicole LaFond of Warwick, RI, Katelin LaFond of Newnan, GA and Brandon LaFond of Newnan, GA.
