Nancy (LaValle) Courtmanche, 76, of Cheshire, CT, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Nancy, a graduate of Branford Shoreline School of Art, was an accomplished artist who enjoyed life through her passion for the arts, cooking, and reading. Nancy was also a partner of "Plants and Things," a business venture she established due to her love of plants. However, most years were spent devoting time to working around school schedules in administrative duties at Dodd Middle School and Clifford Beers Guidance Clinic, all while running LBJ Catering out of her home. Nancy is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Walter (Buddy) Courtmanche, and children Lauren (David) Vendetto, Brett (Leslie) Courtmanche, and Jennifer (Neftali) Courtmanche Rivera. Nancy, fondly known as Nina, leaves behind her treasured grandchildren who she was incredibly proud of, Alex, Luke, Payton, Colby and Matthew. Predeceased by her father, Francis LaValle, and mother and step-father, Kaye (Chalfin) and Marius Monterosso, Nancy is also survived by her sister, Judy Celentano, nephew, Robert Celentano, and lifelong friends, Nancy Priest and Eloise Draper. Nancy's family would like to acknowledge the special care provided from her Yale oncology team and her hospice nurses, Karen, Kathy, Jane and aide, Vickie, as well as the loving support from dear friends Linda, Joanie, DeeDee, and sister-in-laws Mimi, Denise, Nancy, and Suzy.
