On November 11, 2022, Nancy Lee (Heiges) Colman was taken to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Nancy was born on July 28, 1941 and raised on a farm in Dillsburg PA.
At 21 she married Bill Colman and moved from the farm to Kaiserslautern Germany. Eventually Bill and Nancy moved back to Harrisburg PA, then to Albany NY, Washington DC, Raleigh NC, and finally Asheville NC. They had two children, Charles and Laurie Colman. Nancy's passion in life was caring for others. In addition to winning numerous "Mom of the Year" awards, she was a school nurse, hospital nurse, home health care nurse and finally back to school nursing. She believed in life long learning earning her Nursing degree at Polyclinic in Harrisburg PA, her BSN at UNC, her MBA at Meredith in Raleigh NC and her Masters in Counseling at NCSU. Another of Nancy's passions was dancing, starting with the Polka in Germany, and eventually became an avid round, square and ballroom dancer. But what Nancy was best known for was Friend! Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Violet Heiges and her sister Betty Shettel.
She is survived by her husband Bill Colman, son Charles Colman, daughter Laurie Colman and her brother Russell Heiges.
There will be a graveside service on Thursday, November 17 at 2:00 at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Dillsburg, PA and a Celebration of Life in Raleigh NC in December.
