Mrs. Myrtle Thompson, age 92, of Crab Orchard, Kentucky, passed away Monday, August 2nd, 2021, at her residence.
Myrtle was born a daughter of the late Arthur Blevins and Julia Metcalf, in Detroit, MI, on July 23, 1929. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church on Crab Orchard. She was united in marriage to Charles Thompson on December 26, 1948, and they enjoyed 72 years together.
Those left to celebrate her life are her husband Charles Thompson of Crab Orchard, KY; her children: Valerie Joan Thompson of Somerset, KY, Charles R. Thompson of Eubank, KY, and Beverly Jane (Ron) Rohrer of Kiawah Island, SC; six grandchildren: Julie Ann Ayala, Janel Lynn Coburn, Rachael E. Young, Ryan C. Rohrer, Kenneth C. Howe, and Conner J. Howe; four great-grandchildren: Cole Barron, Nathan Young, Aaron Young, Leo Rohrer, and Lenin Ayala; three sisters: Helen Albright of Brodhead, KY, Lee Etta Brock of Brodhead, KY, and Mary (Melvin) Sisson of Somerset, KY; as well as a host of numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter Vanessa Jean Bailey; a grandchild Amy D. Thompson; one great-grandchild Tyler J. Coburn; and sibings: Marvin Blevins, James Blevins, Eula Polumbo, Lula Jane Peters, Dorothy Jones, Pauline Thompson, and Nellie Baxter.
A private interment will be held at Ottawa Cemetery.
