The phrase "you can take the girl out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the girl" described her perfectly. She loved riding her horse, herding cattle, and being a rancher's wife. She always wanted to live where she could see Squaw Butte!
She lived a meaningful and rich life. She was the oldest living Emmett Cherry Festival Queen and recently served as the Grand Marshall of the Cherry Festival parade. She was also the oldest surviving charter member of the Sweet Syringa Club.

Returning to Idaho, they lived, loved, and ranched in the beautiful valley of Sweet for the rest of their lives.
Myrtle treasured her role as wife, mother, and homemaker. She found great pleasure in serving wonderful home cooked meals that always included fresh produce from her large garden and homemade rolls, biscuits or pie. She enjoyed tending her beautiful flowers, with zinnias and cosmos being her favorite. She had an eye for beauty and enjoyed creating a pleasing and welcoming environment in her home.
She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she joyfully served her Savior in many capacities. She had a compassionate heart and lovingly accepted people from all walks of life.
