Mrs. Myrle Sorgee Holley, 79, of Jackson, SC, wife of the late George A. Holley, Jr., entered into rest on Thursday, June 17, 2021, under the loving care of Encompass Hospice.
A lifelong resident of Aiken County, SC, she was a daughter of the late James L. Sorgee and the late Mildred Thompson Cadden. At a young age she began working in the textile industry with United Merchants and later retired from the United States Postal Service on Laurens St. in Aiken, SC, as a Clerk. She was a former member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and was currently a member of Jackson First Baptist Church. Miss Myrle was an avid reader and also enjoyed sewing and traveling.
In addition to her husband and parents, family members include her sons, Clay Holley and his wife, Lisa, Jackson, SC and Russ Holley, Holly Springs, NC; siblings, and their spouses, Cindy and Jack Thornton, Appling, GA, Jamey Sorgee and his wife, Sabrina Lee, Birmingham, AL; Maurice Cadden, Evans, GA and Linda and Bobby Oswald, North Augusta, SC; grandchildren and their spouses, Jake Holley, Billy and Sarah Kwiatkowski and Holly and Matt Hayes and great-grandchildren, Kenly Hayes, MJ Hayes and Cooper Kwiatkowski.
Friends will be greeted by the family beginning at noon Saturday, June 19, 2021, at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Highway Graniteville, SC. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2 o'clock in the chapel of Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Pastor Brandon Fulmer will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC. Pallbearers will be Clay Holley, Russ Holley, Billy Kwiatkowski, Matt Hayes, Jake Holley and Jamey Sorgee.
The love and care provided to Miss Myrle by Encompass Hospice, Westminster Memory Care and caregivers, Alyson Avert, Tammy Syms, Renita Johnson, Gina Stewart, Brenda Costa, Debbie Smith and the late Sonya Caldwell, is most appreciated by the family.
It has been suggested that memorials be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, (www.komen.org) the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org) or Encompass Hospice. (www.encompasshealth.com)
