Myla Heath Black, 79, of San Angelo, TX passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2022. She was born on May 21, 1942 in Houston, TX to Homer Irwin and Kathryn A. Henderson. Myla attended Central High School and graduated in the class of 1960. She later went on to obtain a Bachelor of Arts and her Master's degree in Mathematics from Texas Tech where she was the President of Tridelta Sorority. Myla then began her career in teaching, working for Plainview, TX, then primarily Hobbs, TX as a Math Teacher. After retiring from teaching she became a Real Estate Broker, as well as owned Black Investments. She married Charles K. Black on July 14, 1964. Myla was a proud member of COPD Support and had a passion for horses, team roping, reading, cooking and hard picture puzzles and will always be remembered for her life-long friendships and millions of detailed stories. Myla was preceded in death by her husband Charles K. Black; father Homer I. Henderson, Sr.; mother Kathryn A. Henderson and brother Homer "Bud" Henderson, Jr. Those left to cherish her memory are her siblings Marcus H. Henderson and Meriam Shelton and nieces and nephews Jared Cook, Erica Barnes, Clay Henderson and Cameron Henderson. A celebration of Myla's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2022 in the chapel of Johnson's Funeral Home. Honorary Pallbearers will be Roger Tucker, Martha Tucker, Max Stapleton, Carter Berhens, Alan Adelhardt, Paul Fry, Cameron Henderson and Clay Henderson. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a memorial donation to a charity of your choice.
