Muriel Fattoross, 92, of Monroe passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at Monroe Village Healthcare Center, Monroe. Born in Hoboken, she also lived in Union City, Secaucus, Wood-ridge, and Brick Township before moving to Whiting in 2015. Predeceased by her husband Vincent in 2020 and her son Ted in 2015, she is survived by her daughter, Darlene Fattorusso of New Mexico; Carol Lang and her husband Tom of Monroe Township (who was a son to both Muriel and Vinnie); her grandchildren, Chris, Rachael, and her fiancé Jeremiah, Jared and his partner Bianca, Thomas and his wife Gina, Taylor, Joshua and his fiancé Lindsay; her great grandchildren, Zoie, Tristan, Atticus, and Carter; her brother, Joseph Capozio and sister-in-law Mary, her sister-in-law Phyllis Singaliese, and her many cousins and friends who loved her unconditionally. Along with her late husband Vincent, they owned T.A.Fattoross Paper Company in Hoboken, and later in Carlstadt, which was founded in 1928 and operated until they retired and sold the business in 1994. Muriel was a true matriarch to her family. She enjoyed caring and cooking for family and friends and was known to hold the traditional recipes for the generations. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Rd., Whiting, followed by a Catholic Mass of Christian Burial at 10:45 AM at the All Saints Chapel at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 30 Schoolhouse Rd. Whiting.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital or to The Muriel Memorial Fund, which enables Medicaid residence to obtain Salon services.
