Mrs. Joyce Oviatt Hamman, 92, wife of the late Mr. Robert D. Hamman, entered into rest on Saturday, September 21, 2024. She was preceded in death by her brothers , Donald Oviatt and William Oviatt, and by her sister Jeanne Rudy.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Joseph Falis, Avon Park, Florida, Lisa Galland, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Jeff Hamman (Joyce), Kennesaw, GA, and Susan Hamilton (David), Aiken, SC; her sister, Beverly Hulett, The Villages, Florida; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was also a proud and loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hamman was born in Harrisburg, PA, to the late Alfred Lee and Helen Mather Oviatt. Joyce grew up in the small town of Dauphin, PA. She worked as a nurse for many years and was a member and supporter of the Dauphin-Middle Paxton Historical Society. Joyce loved visiting and talking with her grandchildren, keeping up with her family and friends on Facebook, working crossword puzzles, and playing Scrabble.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dauphin-Middle Paxton Historical Society.
