Mrs. Debra "Debbie" Duncan Clark, 69, beloved wife of the late Mr. Ward Mason Clark, entered into rest on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at her home, following a battle with cancer that lasted over 13 years.
The family will greet friends on Monday, April 15, 2024, beginning at 3 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Highway, Graniteville, SC 29829. A "Celebration of Life" service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 4 o'clock, with Reverend Kirk Gipson officiating.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ward Clark; parents, Edward A. "Billy" and Vera Padgett Duncan; sister, Nancy Duncan Beasley; and brother, Eddie Duncan.
Mrs. Clark was born in Augusta, GA, and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County. She graduated from Langley-Bath-Clearwater High School in 1972. She spent her career working for the Medical College of Georgia, where she served as the office manager for the Cardiothoracic Surgery Department, later served as the coordinator for the Dermatology Residency Program, and later served as the office manager for the Metabolic Endocrinology Department. Her true love was spending time with her beloved husband of 48 years, her sons and grandsons, her sisters and extended family, as well as her many life-long friends. She especially enjoyed traveling to the beach or the mountains with her family and grandsons and looked forward to the annual "Duncan Girls" trips with her sisters and nieces. Her door was always open to family and friends, as well as to the many childhood friends of her sons, who were known to spend a lot of time around her kitchen table enjoying the food she loved to cook for them.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Graem Clark (Brantley), Irmo, SC and Brian Clark, North Augusta, SC; sisters, Linda Duncan Ingle (the late John), Irmo, SC; Kathy Duncan New (Steve), North Augusta, SC and Judy Duncan (the late Eddie), Langley, SC; her grandchildren, Graem Mason Clark, Jr., Roper Clark, and Duncan Clark; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Debbie's family would like to extend a heartfelt "thank you" to MSA Hospice, as well as to her wonderful team of caretakers, led by Ms. Diane Boyd, all of whom provided the most compassionate care for Debbie in her final years.
