Mrs. Annie Laura Black, 90, wife of the late Mr. Delma Black of Langley, SC, entered into rest on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at her residence.
The family will greet friends on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, beginning at 11 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Highway, Graniteville, SC 29829. A Celebration of Life service at noon in the funeral home chapel will follow. Pastor Edward Hardee will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC. Pallbearers will be Matt Britt, David Yanizeski, William Starnes, George Webb, Richie Enlow, and Gerald Tice.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Sandra Starnes (William J.), Salley, SC, Shirley Neal, Augusta, GA, Donna Beard, Langley, SC, and Donnie Black (Cindi), Aiken, SC; her sister and brother, Helen Adams (Charles), of Bath, SC, and James Padgett (Jewel), Aiken, SC; grandchildren: Kimberly Starnes, William Starnes, Candi Benjamin, Brandon Black, Brittany Yanizeski, Joey Black, Jessica Britt, and Jennifer Collins; and her great-grandchildren: Adeline Starnes, Henry Starnes, Gracelyn Benjamin, Rebecca Alexandro, Kate Black, Griffin Yanizeski, Emmett Yanizeski, Madison Black, Logan Collins, Kyle Collins, Kiley Wood, Olivia Britt, and Laylah Britt.
Mrs. Black was born in Saluda, SC, to the late Ray Padgett, Sr., and Irene Toole Padgett. She worked for Seminole Mill and was a faithful member of Langley Church of God. She enjoyed sitting in her rocker on her porch, enjoying her well-kept yard and beautiful flowers, and shopping. She especially loved spending time with her family.
Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Ray Padgett, Jr and W.A. Padgett and sisters Hazel Coon and Doris Black.
