Mother Mary Angela Perry, PCPA
Beloved Religious Superior of the Monastery of Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration in Cleveland, OH and later in Washington, DC, passed peacefully on June 6, 2021, the Solemnity of Corpus Christi. Preceded in death by her dear parents, John and Ruby (Tisone) Perry, Sr., brothers, Louis (Marietta) Perry, and John (Christine) Perry, Jr., she is survived by her brother Anthony (Harriet) Perry, and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Born January 20, 1929 in Hubbard, Ohio, Mother Mary Angela entered the Order of Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration in Cleveland, Ohio, March 25, 1949, made her Religious Profession October 19, 1950, and was blessed with 70 years of Vows. She served many years as Religious Superior of both the Cleveland and Washington, DC Monasteries, and also contributed her skills throughout the years as Sacristan, seamstress of Church vestments, laundering was an excellent cook. Mother Mary Angela cherished her family and spoke lovingly of all of them. Most of all she treasured her Eucharistic vocation, and found her joy in serving the Lord and her Religious Community of Sisters, with all her heart, energy, and ability. One always found in her a warm, caring, compassionate spirit, accepting of all, and wise in her counsel and encouragement. Mother Mary Angela was instrumental in the reopening of the Founding Monastery of the PCPA Order in Troyes, France.
