Monique (Dufort) Graveline passed away peacefully on January 16, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Graveline for 65 years before his passing in 2021. Monique was born in Montreal, Canada on August 20, 1930, daughter of the late Bernard and Camelia (Beaupre) Dufort. She attended the University of Montreal where she studied Political Science. Monique was an award-winning quilter and belonged to the Newington Schoolhouse Quilters. She was also an avid reader and puzzle maker. Monique enjoyed cooking and being in the kitchen. She taught her children to cook and passed down recipes. Most importantly, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Monique is survived by her daughter Michele Malkauskas and her husband Walter, of Newington; her son Joseph Graveline, of St. Charles, MO; grandchildren Jennifer Mooney (Jordan), Emily Malkauskas, Katie Babey (Justin), Jessica Bange (Daniel) and Jacob Caswell. Monique is also survived by great-granddaughter Maren, and great-grandson Oliver; as well as siblings Cecile Leclerc and Pierre Dufort.
She was predeceased by her daughters Elaine Graveline Davenport, and Denise Graveline; and siblings Fabiola Carmel, Jacqueline Olsheski, Jean-Jacques Dufort, Denise Bergeron, and Jean-Louis Dufort.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Monique's family on Friday, January 30th, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Duksa Family Funeral Home at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington. Her funeral will begin on Saturday, January 31st, at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Josephine Bakhita Parish, St. James Campus, Rocky Hill. She will be laid to rest in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington.
