A beloved mother and longtime nurse in the Taos Community passed away at her home surrounded by her loved ones on October 16, 2020. She was preceded in death by her mother Violeta Salazar-Velasquez; her brothers Armando and Mario Velasquez. Monica is survived by her father Albert Velasquez; children Jessica, Vanessa and Teddy Lucero (Rachel); grandchildren Angelina, Theodore, and Nathanial Lucero; her brothers Enrico, Rolando, Diego, Carlos and Rey Velasquez. Funeral Service will be held Friday October 30, 2020 at 1:00pm in the Evergreen Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos with burial to follow at the Los Alamitos Cemetery in Los Cordovas.
